During the next six years the student population is expected to increase as follows:
| Elementary | 9.4% | 163 students |
| Middle School | 22.8% | 210 students |
| High School | 7.9% | 94 students |
Taken together the projection shows a 467 student or 12.1% increase to nearly
4,323 students in the six years. Because of this growth over the next decade
for educational and instructional space should be based on approximately 2,100
elementary students, 1,300 middle school students and 1,500 high school students.
The elementary student population is projected to grow over the next six years to 750 students at Jefferson, 430 students at Middlebury, 470 students at Orchard View and almost 300 students at York.
In summary, the growth of the student population in the Middlebury Community Schools will continue to grow at a good pace over the next twenty years. The information found in this report would indicate the extreme need for additional classrooms now and in the future.
