At the conclusion of each school year, the Northridge High School Athletic Department reviews all aspects of its operations and considers possible changes and improvements for the upcoming school year. After reviewing the most recent 2023-2024 school year, we identified the need to eliminate admission costs for Northridge High School students at athletic events on campus.
As we announced yesterday, the Jayco Family of Companies generously donated funds to the NHS Athletic Department to make this happen.
What this means is that starting with the 2024-2025 school year, NHS students will receive free admission to all regular season contests and therefore will no longer accept donations toward student ticket purchases.
In previous years, students, parents, and the community at-large inquired about the possibility of getting students’ admission paid for, and we were fortunate enough to get several individuals and businesses to donate money to make that happen. We are thankful for that arrangement but have decided it is not sustainable moving forward for contests not hosted by Northridge High School.
Although it seemed to be a win-win for all involved – students had less of a financial barrier to attend the event, our athletes benefited from having their classmates present at games to support, and donors got publicity for making this happen – behind the scenes, it proved to be a complicated process. The logistics of getting the donor’s money to the host school in a timely fashion and having a mechanism for students to acquire the tickets were challenging to execute for an athletic event hosted at other schools. It was also becoming quite complicated for school bookkeepers and athletic departments to manage, especially for IHSAA events which require an audit of the financial details of each tournament.
Now that NHS students are granted free admission, we hope to accomplish the following:
We want to see Northridge students supporting our competing student-athletes. High school is a unique time in a person’s life. The experience is not replicable before or after this timeframe. We feel there is great reward in having students attend athletic competitions and stand in the cheer block with your peers supporting your school. We know times have changed - people have more options than ever to spend their time, but we love seeing the bleachers packed at a sporting event. Old Yearbook pictures show a time when NHS had one-fourth of the enrollment that it does currently but nearly half of the student body attended a game. Now, at best, we get about 15% of students to attend an athletic event.
Raider students, do your part! We owe Jayco an ongoing thank you for their generosity, and the way to thank them best is by showing up and supporting our student-athletes.
The $50 (previous cost of a student all-sports pass) can be saved toward the cost of attending multiple IHSAA tournaments. We hope this means students will begin connecting with our athletic teams at the start of the season and maintain their support through the end of the postseason.
Thank you for your support of Raider Athletics!

We are excited to announce that the Jayco Family of Companies have pledged another sizable annual donation to the Northridge High School Athletic Department that will cover the cost for all students in grades 9-12 to attend all home athletic events for FREE.
Students will simply show their current student ID and be admitted to any home athletic event free of charge. We are so thankful to Jayco for being an incredible community partner!
Go Raiders!
