The MCS School Board appreciates the collaborative relationship between administration and our teachers. Tuesday night, they approved a salary increase for ALL MCS employees. We are thankful for the way staff members positively impact our students and community.
One of the best school board meetings of the year is when Mrs. Smeltzer brings the NHS exchange students to be introduced to the board. This year we have students from Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. It is a joy to hear about the things these students are involved in, what some of the biggest differences are between the US and their home country, and what their favorite American foods are so far. Thank you exchange students! 🇪🇸🇮🇹🇨🇭🇩🇪
The Middlebury Moment was created to highlight student outcomes and focus on students who have achieved something exciting and worth celebrating, or have demonstrated significant growth.
Our first student was honored during the school board meeting last evening.
Gabriel is a York Elementary School 2nd grade student. When he started in kindergarten at York, Gabriel faced significant challenges adjusting to the classroom. Small goals were set, which he met, which led to new goal after new goal. Each time with more success. Now Gabriel is doing amazing things at York. Principal Kominowski states that "Gabriel has overcome numerous obstacles and achieved more progress than any student I've ever seen in my entire career. He is now a 2nd grade student, and a role model for many of his peers."
We want to thank all of the staff members who played a part in Gabriel's progress. We want to congratulate his parents, Rachel and Nick. And we want to say to Gabriel - keep up the great work. Keep being a positive example for others to follow. We are so proud of you!

We have had some great days for PE classes this week. Our middle school students have been enjoying the opportunities to be outside while learning. Go Raiders!
Northridge Middle School 7th grade students in Mrs. Yoder's class are launching straw rockets to help learn about the scientific inquiry process. What an awesome lesson!!
Our Lady Raider golf team finished in 12th place at the state tournament this past weekend. We are very proud of them and their accomplishments this season!!! Go Raiders! 💚⛳️
We have great news to share! The Northridge High School Robotics Team was awarded a 2024-2025 K-12 Robotics Competition grant from the Indiana Department of Education. Over 145 proposals were submitted for this grant. The IDOE was impressed by the plan design, construct, and program that NHS submitted. Way to go Raiders!!
The Shred-A-Thon sponsored by the NHS Robotics Team is this Saturday 10/5 from 8:30 - 11:30 am. This will be in the NHS student lot nearest Door 49. Look for the big Integra Truck!

Northridge Middle School 6th grade science classes are out and about around campus learning to identify leaves. This lesson has been going on for over 40 years! Who remembers doing this when you were in school?
Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day. We want to give a shout-out to all of our building managers and custodians for the great work they do! Our buildings shine and sparkle because of you. You are always willing to lend a helping hand and are kind to our students. Thank you!!!
The Northridge Raider Dance Team partnered with the Mishawaka Dance Team for a halftime performance at the football game last Friday night. We love to see groups working together. Way to go dance teams!
Northridge High School hosted a College and Career Fair for students today. We were so thankful for the 70+ colleges, local businesses, and US military who were in attendance today. This was a great experience for our students!
Mr. Baber from Jefferson is working on math concepts while Mrs. Scott from York works on phonemic awareness. We appreciate the hard work that our teachers do every day to meet the needs of students!
Representatives from Jefferson and Orchard View were honored yesterday at the state house for achieving a passing rate of 95% or higher on last year‘s IREAD-3 literacy assessment. This is a great honor for our schools and families!
