Jefferson Elementary School students recently had a fun lesson where they had to use skills such as math, reading, and following directions in order to successfully make a cake. This is a great way to incorporate these skills with hands-on learning!

Dr. Snyder enjoyed his time riding bus 44 this afternoon. He met some great students and heard a lot about their lives! Thank you to all of our bus drivers!

Thank you to our elementary, intermediate, middle school, and high school art teachers for doing all of the prep work necessary to set up for last week's MCS Art Show! Thank you also to the many parents and grandparents who attended to celebrate our students' incredible work! Lastly, congratulations to our very talented students. Your future is bright!

Northridge High School students visited Jefferson Elementary School recently to play games with our students as part of their course work. We love it when our older students interact with and mentor the younger students. Thank you, NHS students!

It's a great day for grilling! Today is cookout day at NHS where cafeteria staff grill fresh hamburgers and hot dogs outside on the grills for the students. Yum!!

Earlier this week Dr. Snyder had a great meeting with the Deputy Legislative Director from Indiana Homeland Security - who happens to be a Northridge graduate! We are proud of you, Karlee Hideman!

Students in Mrs. Kenworthy's class are discussing shapes as a part of their math lesson. Who remembers learning about cylinders and cubes?

In honor of National School Nurse Day, we want to thank all of our school nurses for the care that they give to our students. Our nurses fix scrapes, make sure medications are given at the correct time, and reassure students when they aren't well. These clinics are one of the busiest places in the school and they are always kind and compassionate. Thank you!!!!!

Art class is in full swing at Northridge Middle School!

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers are a positive influence in the lives of our students, work long hours creating lessons and providing feedback for growth, and bring energy to their classrooms every day. In many ways their work with students boils down to the thoughts in this poem:
Special Teacher
What you taught me
in just a few minutes a day
will help me
for my lifetime.
Thank you.
Thank you to our teachers for your work to change lives!

Please consider attending this event and supporting our students!

Today is School Lunch Hero Day! We want to thank and honor our cafeteria workers in all of our schools. Our crews are always friendly, always smiling, and are always kind. We appreciate how you care for and interact with our students and staff!

Today is National School Principals' Day! We have some awesome head building administrators and we want to thank them for all that they do. Our schools and corporation would not be as successful as it is without their leadership!

York Elementary School students are integrating typing skills into their routine. These students are learning about proper hand placement on the keyboard and are working on their dexterity. Check out the focus and intensity. We should have some fast typists soon!

Are you a Northridge High School junior or senior (or parent of a junior or senior) looking for a summer job or employment after graduation? Check out this fantastic opportunity!

Top-Scoring Northridge High School Junior Wins Trip To Germany!!!
Every year thousands high school students across the country take the National German Exam, a standardized test of German reading & listening skills. Over a thousand Hoosiers participated this year, more than any other state in the U.S.A.-- and Northridge Junior Caden Risse knocked it out of the park, scoring 98% Percentile! After an interview with an I.U. Professor and an additional screening exam, Caden was chosen for the AATG/PAD National German Exam Scholarship. Along with 100 other students from the U.S., he will spend 3 weeks this summer staying with a host family in Hamburg & traveling the country - all expense paid. Gratuliere Caden!!

Peyton Martin was honored at the last board meeting during the Middlebury Moment.
Peyton was nominated by Principal Brickner and teacher Cameron Baber. Peyton started at Jefferson in Kindergarten with challenges related to academics, behavior, and a variety of medical concerns. He has worked incredibly hard to overcome those obstacles and has decided that nothing can stop him from being successful. Peyton has become a student who is a leader at Jefferson Elementary, and he advocates for a school environment where students treat each other the right way.
Way to go Payton! We are so proud of you, and we know you will continue to do great things.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Jaime Nathaniel for her dedicated service as principal of Northridge High School over the past two years, and for the meaningful relationships she has built during her 10 years at Northridge. Her leadership and sincere care for students have left a lasting impact.
Seeking to round out her professional experiences, Mrs. Nathaniel has accepted the opportunity to lead at the middle school level as principal of Wawasee Middle School next school year. We wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter.
Once a Raider, always a Raider.
Thank you, Mrs. Nathaniel!

MCS wishes to thank Elevation Park Model Company for their willingness to sponsor the Raider tennis courts. Owner Joel Lederman, his wife Annerose, and their four daughters are part of the MCS family, and we are incredibly thankful for their partnership and generosity. Beginning in July, the tennis courts will officially be named the Elevation Park Model Tennis Courts.

Today is Administrative Professionals Day. We want to thank the staff who fill these roles all across our district. These people work hard every day and deserve the recognition! We also want to give a special shout out to the administrative professionals who work at the administration center. This group is incredible. They work hard and are a fun group!! Thank you for all that you do.
