Representatives from Jefferson and Orchard View were honored yesterday at the state house for achieving a passing rate of 95% or higher on last year‘s IREAD-3 literacy assessment. This is a great honor for our schools and families!

York Elementary School kindergarten students are working with Mrs. Sheridan on a lesson where the students discuss different ways to be kind to others. This is a great life skill that can be used every day. Thank you for these simple, yet effective lessons.
Heritage Intermediate students collected money last week for "Pennies for Ponies". Money collected went to assist Stable Grounds and its ponies. Students raised $1,222.43! Mr. Gaskill and Mr. Anglemeyer challenged students that if they raised over $1,000, the two of them would wear a horse costume. Way to go Heritage!
Members of the girls basketball team greeted elementary students as they arrived at school yesterday and today. This is a great way to show community and helps build relationships. Thank you for the leadership and example set by these girls and their coaches!

Middlebury Community Schools Instructional Coaches attended a workshop earlier this week. The focus was on growing leadership skills and was hosted by Lead Learners. This was a great opportunity for our coaches to grow their leadership capacity!

Yesterday afternoon the school board was able to hear about Northridge High School's work-based learning program. 172 of our students are enrolled in this program all across the county. These students are contributing to the community and are learning many skills along the way!
