If your student will not be returning to Jefferson or WILL NOT BE GOING TO HERITAGE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL next school year, please notify the school office as soon as possible. There is a paper that needs to be completed by you. 574/822-5399. The office is open M-F from 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Our 3rd Grade students have been learning about entrepreneurship and will be putting their skills to work on their Market Day. They have also decided to donate a portion of their profits to support The Stable Grounds Equine Therapy in Middlebury. If your student(s) would like to add to their donation, we will have a collection container in the lobby.
Check out the Middlebury Public Library website for their Summer Reading Program. This year's theme is "Adventure Begins at Your Library!" There are summer activities for all ages!
Registration opens May 20th and the program runs from June 3 through August 3.
The Summer Reading Kick-Off has been pushed back to NEXT Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00pm. This is a FREE BOOK giveaway for each Jefferson student. We have not received all of the books that have been ordered and therefore need to change the date. This event will be held in the front of the school. Each student will receive several free books to read over the summer.

We have the best super hero team at Jefferson. They provide a great meal, they are fun, and they love our students! We appreciate our JES Cafe' staff. Thank you for all you do!
May 6-10 is Staff Appreciation Week. We would love if your child(ren) would take a few minutes to write a note of appreciation to them. Please check the attachment for a list of staff members. Please feel free to write notes to as many staff members as they would like. Who doesn't love to get friendly mail!!!

Who let the Dogs Read? Mrs. Crawford and her team prepared a great assembly. It started with Officer Smith and Raider showing students what Raider's job is, then we had trainers teach students about dog training, and finished with a Masked Reader reveal. Students listened to books this week while trying to identify who was the reader behind the mask. Great day at Jefferson!!!
