Kindergarten Round-up for York is quickly approaching! If you or someone you know has a child that will be 5 by August 1st and is wanting to enroll them in kindergarten, now is the time. We are asking families to enroll prior to Round-Up on April 30th if possible.

It is time once again to clean out our lost and found. Items will be available in the lobby for those attending parent teacher conferences. Otherwise if you see something that belongs to your child, please send them to the office to pick it up. We will be clearing the items out at the end of the week. Thank you!
Here are some highlights from Ability Week. A big shout out to Mrs. Hamood and Mrs. Salisbury for all the work they did in making this possible. It was great to see the kids begin to understand disabilities and see a glimpse on some challenges that people with disabilities may experience.
We would like to give a shout out to Marcus Hochstetler from Compassion Doberman and Canine for sharing three of his bulldog puppies with us yesterday afternoon. The staff enjoyed spending time with them during collaborations and it brought everyone some much needed joy! Thank you so much Marcus!
Mrs. Salisbury, our librarian, had started a once a week crocheting/knitting group with a few third graders during recess time. It is fun to see the staff at York find unique ways to connect with the students.
York will be having a spirit week next week ( March 17-21) in order to celebrate Ability Week and the end of the third quarter. We are excited to see all the participation next week!
Next week is Ability Week! 🌟 Throughout next week students will explore how people move, communicate, and experience the world differently through interactive activities. This will take place during your child's scheduled classroom guidance lesson or computer lab time. Our goal is to promote empathy, inclusion, Ability and kindness together! Make sure to check your student's folder for more information. 💙

Career week ended with one of our favorite days, dressing as our future selves. We also welcomed a few guest in our third grade classes sharing about their careers. A big thanks goes out to our amazing counselor, Mrs. Hamood, for organizing this fun week!
York is really enjoying career week so far. Especially the spirit days! Today was Wacky Wednesday. We are looking forward to what the rest of the week holds....

Next week all grades will be exploring different careers with Mrs. Hamood, school counselor, for career week . We will also be having a spirit week to coordinate with the activities. We hope students are able to join in with the spirit week and look forward to learning about different careers!

Our lost and found is once again bursting at the seams. Photos are also available on our website. All items are in the office, please send your child to the office to retrieve items that belong to them. We do have a couple of winter coats pictured. The navy blue coat is Lands End (size 10-12), black/gray coat is Swiss Tech (size 6-7)
