Today is National School Lunch Hero Day. We have some awesome heroes in each of our schools! Some of our students will eat 2/3 of their meals at school each week and these staff members serve all of those meals. These ladies provide nutritional breakfasts and lunches and serve each student with a smile. Our appreciation can't be stated loudly enough. Thank you for all that you do each day!!!

This summer the state of Indiana is introducing SUN Bucks, a new benefits program that provides eligible families with school-aged children $120.00 to buy groceries when school is out. Most eligible families will get these benefits automatically, in the form of a card sent to their mailing address on file with the school, but parents who haven't already qualified can apply. If your student is already receiving free or reduced priced meals at school, please do not apply. You have already qualified. The last day to apply for benefits is August 16th, 2024, and benefits expire 122 days after the card is issued. Households will receive 1 card per child.

Middlebury School Board Members Honored by Indiana School Boards Association
The Middlebury Community Schools Board of Trustees has been recognized by the Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA) with an Exemplary Governance Award for the year 2023 for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to professional learning and student success.
Board awards are based on points earned by each member for attending ISBA seminars, workshops, conferences, and other learning events, as well as the board’s completion of certain additional criteria, such as a retreat with an outside facilitator and goal setting to elevate student achievement outcomes. Honorees were formally recognized during ISBA’s Spring Regional Meeting on April 17th in Plymouth.
“On behalf of ISBA, I would like to commend this most exceptional group of school boards and school board members,” said ISBA Executive Director Terry Spradlin. “School boards perform a vital public service for their communities, and board members who actively participate in professional learning are better equipped to perform their duties effectively and meet the needs of their students.”
Board members from left to right are: Mike Varner, Caleb Mast, Kate Hummel, Gregg Eash, Don Anderson.
