Today is Bus Driver Appreciation Day! We want to thank all of our bus drivers for the work that they do every day to safely transport students to and from school, as well as extra curricular activities. Our drivers put in countless hours and are sometimes the first smiling face that a students sees in the morning or at the end of the day. They brave inclement weather conditions and work to make sure everyone arrives at their destination on time. We are truly blessed to have the bus drivers that we do. Thank you, drivers!!! MCS loves you!

The school board had the pleasure of having Middlebury Elementary School students presenting to them last evening at the school board meeting. Middlebury students teamed up with board members to show them some of the coding activities they are learning in their S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) lab. Our future is bright with these students. Way to go Middies!

Middlebury Elementary staff recently had a training session where they learned about some STEAM activities they can use with students. These are great ways that students can work on problem solving skills in a hands-on environment.

The National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition is an annual juried ceramic competition for Kindergarten through Grade 12 (K-12) students in the United States. Designed to showcase the best K12 ceramic work made in the country, the exhibition takes place in a different city each year in conjunction with the annual conference of The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). The best work in our exhibition is consistently judged to be better than undergraduate and much of the graduate work produced nationwide. What has been so surprising, and what draws such large crowds every year, is the simple showcase reality: that young people who have learned the basics of ceramics can express themselves as well, if not better, than people much older and more mature. Please congratulate Juliana Shiveley on her accomplishment! Scholastic Portfolio winner information was also released, and NHS has an outstanding artist to recognize! Congratulations Lilly Palmer!!

Friday is here! We want to wrap up National School Counselor Week by recognizing the counseling staff at Northridge High School. This group of counselors is the last group our high school students will work with before they graduate. This is an important time, as students are making many life decisions. This group guides them every step of the way to help students be successful! Thank you Ms. Avery, Mrs. Clabaugh, Mrs. Runyon, Mrs. Smeltzer, and Mrs. Todt! You and your staff are all wonderful!!

NHS Counselors
Heritage Intermediate School has a couple of awesome counselors that we want to recognize during National School Counseling Week. These counselors do a great job of getting to know students in 4th and 5th grade. They help the students transition into the building from 3rd grade and then prepare them for middle school a year later. We appreciate everything that they do. Thank you, Mrs. Miller and Mr. Peery!!

Stable Grounds is our National School Counseling Week highlight this morning. This non-profit sits just off our campus, yet these two counselors work every day to help a portion of our student population work through some traumatic issues. We appreciate Mrs. Cripe and Mrs. Snider for all of their work!!!

Happy National School Counseling Week to Mrs. Bernth, Mr. Tadeo, Mrs. Wagner, and Mrs. Yoder!

NMS Counselors
Northridge Middle School students and staff presented at last night's school board meeting. Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Varner, and students shared information about all of the activities that happen in the library. The library is a hub for the school and offers activities such as Battle of the Books, game days, book clubs, and hosts assistants who help in the library. NMS students greatly benefit from all of the things happening in the library under Mrs. Varner's leadership!

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens, has just released the 2024 Key and Honorable Mention awards. Nine students from Northridge High School earned honors this year, several earning more than one distinction. Students’ entries are blindly adjudicated by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts, with jurors looking for works that exemplify the Awards’ core values: originality, technical skill, and the emergence of personal voice or vision. Please congratulate these students on their accomplishments:
